GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday, revealed one of the signs God used to prove to his congregation that he was the one chosen as the successor of Reverend Josaiah Akindayomi.
Stonix News reports that Pastor Adeboye, who marked his 81st birthday on March 2, succeeded Rev Akindayomi in 1981 after the passing of the latter.
Rounding off the 2023 March Special Holy Ghost Service on Sunday morning with a Thanksgiving Service tagged: “God of Breakthroughs,” the Octogenarian affirmed that God has answered all the prayers rendered during the March special programme.
According to him, the sign God showed to his congregation years ago as a proof that he was chosen as the General Overseer was the birth of boys each first day of a special monthly programme then.
He said the sign, which has been characterising his programmes, was also copiously repeated during the 2023 March Holy Ghost Service which also marked his 81st birthday.
“To show that God really meant business (in this programme), another child has been born this morning, and it is a boy (laughs).
“So, we have a total of 21 babies – 16 Boys and five boys. Why is this so important? When I became General Overseer, there were some who believed that I wasn’t the choice of God.
“At a stage, I have to ask God to give them a sign. Those days, every month we had a special programme and on the day the programmes begins, a woman would deliver. And it was always a boy.
“So, very soon, it became clear to everybody that even if I can use my education to manoeuvre anything else, I can’t use my education to manoeuvre when a woman will deliver and what would be the sex.
“So, God has given us several signs during the Special Holy Ghost – the reasons we have boys.
“So, even the angels in heaven know your breakthroughs have come and permanent,” he declared.
