JUST IN: Rivers Assembly Speaker, 15 Other Lawmakers Defect From PDP To APC

SIXTEEN members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development was announced during plenary on Friday, where Mr Amaewhule stated that the decision was prompted by what he described as a “clear division” within the PDP.
