Terrorists who bombed a Kaduna-bound train on March 28, 2022, have freed Managing Director of Bank of Agriculture (BOA), Alh Alwan Ali Hassan.
The terrorists did not only kidnap some passengers, but reportedly killed eight of them with several of them sustaining gunshot injuries.
The MD is one of the 161 passengers on board the train declared missing by the management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
The release of the BOA MD was confirmed by the Director, Corporate Communication of the Bank, Gboyega Olaniyi in a chat with journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday.
Olaniyi said the MD had been released and he’s reunited with his family in Kaduna.
He thanked Nigerians for their prayers and support during his ordeal.
Earlier, a source had said the bandits had made contact with the families of the abducted passengers even though no ransom was demanded.
However, a family member later confirmed that he was released after a ransom was paid to the marauders.
A concerned family member of one of the abducted passengers, who pleaded anonymity, said that they were still negotiating with the bandits.
