Let’s Stop Arguments Over Tithes, Adeboye Appeals To Christians

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG ), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has appealed to Christians to stop all arguments over tithe.

He made the plea to at the Redemption City of God on the occasion of the International Youths Convention held at the 3×3 Auditorium, Simawa, Ogun State.

While preaching, Pastor Adeboye appealed to Christians not to leave their places of worship because of the issue of tithe.

He said: “I am begging all Christians all over the world. Let this argument about tithe come to an end. I know some of you know much more than I do.

“I know that pastor of mine knows much more than I do, but let’s do it this way, especially you members.

“If your pastor says he doesn’t want tithe, don’t leave his church. If he says all he wants is offering, give him offering.

“But if your heart tells you that you should give God at least 10 per cent, find a church nearby where the pastor says ‘we can collect tithe, we will use it for the Glory of God.’

“Then, give that pastor your tithe. So you don’t quarrel with your pastor and you don’t quarrel with God. Your conscience will be clear. I am making that appeal.”

The revered man of God, popularly called Daddy GO, had, earlier, on Thursday, apologised over an old message where he described those who don’t pay tithes as robbers and therefore not worthy of God’s kingdom.

According to him, his interpretation wasn’t biblical, but added that while tithing isn’t wrong, payment of 10 per cent of one’s income is actually for new believers in the Lord.

He averred that the love of God shed aboard and in-depth devotion in Christians can propel someone to even go beyond 10 per cent in tithing as codified in the Book of Malachi 3.

He, therefore, urged Christians to seek God in all sincerity in order to attain greater heights with in dominion over mundane things.
