Minister Grounds Kwam 1, Warns Airlines Against Violating No-Fly Order

By Micheal Chukwuebuka

THE Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has warned that any airline that allows popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as K1 De Ultimate, to board its aircraft within or outside Nigeria, risks losing its operating licence.

Keyamo confirmed on Thursday, August 7, 2025, that the singer has been blacklisted from air travel following an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja involving the crew of a ValueJet aircraft.

In a statement, the minister said the decision was based on comprehensive reports and video evidence submitted by aviation authorities. He described the altercation as “a case of temporary loss of sanity and control on both sides” that could have escalated into a fatal event.

“Contrary to claims made by his associates, Kwam 1 repeatedly moved around the tarmac in a manner that physically obstructed the aircraft from taxiing toward the runway. This is totally unacceptable behaviour,” Keyamo stated.

He dismissed concerns about whether the artist was holding water or alcohol during the altercation, emphasizing that the critical issue was his obstruction of the aircraft — an act the minister likened to a “hostage situation.”

“The actual video footage showing this recalcitrant behaviour is hereby attached,” he added.
