The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) Borstal Training Institution, Kaduna, has expressed readiness to partner with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in tackling corruption and curbing the involvement of young people in economic and financial crimes.
The new Principal of the Institution and Controller of Corrections, Tukura Yakubu Yamma, made this known during a familiarisation visit to the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.
This was made known on the official X page of the EFCC and obtained by Stonix News on Thursday.
According to Yamma, the fight against corruption and insecurity requires joint efforts from all relevant institutions, especially those working with young people.
He emphasised that national security and moral reorientation cannot be achieved by one agency alone.

“The security and wellbeing of this nation cannot be handled by one agency alone. We all need to put our heads together to secure this nation by helping especially the youths realise their importance in joining the fight,” Yamma said.
Responding, the Acting Director of the EFCC Kaduna Zonal Directorate, Bawa Kaltungo, commended the NCS officers for their initiative and commitment to partnership.
He described the collaboration as timely and beneficial to both agencies and the nation at large.
“No agency is too special to take on the war against corruption, economic and financial crimes alone. The Commission is ready to cooperate and collaborate.
“Our doors are always open. We are ready to help and offer consultation,” Kaltungo stated.
He also lauded the Borstal Training Institution for its dedication to rehabilitating errant young people, saying such efforts complement the EFCC’s mission to promote integrity and accountability in society.
