NUJ Warri Chapel Celebrates Tompolo at 54, Hails Contributions to Nigeria’s Oil Sector

THE Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel has extended heartfelt congratulations to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on the occasion of his 54th birthday, praising his instrumental role in improving Nigeria’s oil sector.

In a press statement signed by the Chapel’s Chairman, Mr Okies Okpomor, the union lauded Tompolo’s leadership as Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), particularly in the fight against illegal oil bunkering, pipeline vandalism, and maritime piracy in the Niger Delta region.

The NUJ stated that Tompolo’s efforts through Tantita have helped restore confidence and stability in the oil industry, which was once plagued by criminal activities that severely hampered national revenue.

“The Chapel cannot forget in a hurry the pitiable state of oil production in the country, largely caused by illegal bunkering, which went a long way to affect the nation’s economic growth before your organisation came to the rescue,” the statement read.

The union highlighted a significant milestone under Tompolo’s watch, noting that the country’s oil production has risen to 1.8 million barrels per day—an output not achieved before the engagement of TSSNL by the Federal Government.

“It is on record that since TSSNL was engaged by the Federal Government a few years ago to secure critical oil facilities in the Niger Delta, the country has recorded remarkable improvement in oil production,” the statement added.

Commending Tompolo’s wider influence beyond the oil sector, the NUJ praised his philanthropic efforts and described him as “a great ambassador to the younger generation” whose leadership quality is “second to none in the State and nation.”

“Your immeasurable contributions to the country’s economic base and the protection of the nation’s critical assets in the oil and gas sector have put the crude oil revenue at its highest level,” the Chapel stated.

The union also offered prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and good health for Tompolo, expressing hope that he will lead the private pipeline security outfit to even greater heights.

“As you celebrate yet another age, we pray God for more years in sound health, peace and joy in your noble family,” the NUJ said.

The NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel joins family, friends, and well-wishers across the globe in celebrating Tompolo’s birthday, describing him as a figure of national significance whose legacy continues to impact Nigeria’s economy and society.
