BARELY four days after Governor Ademola Adeleke emerged as the Accord Party’s governorship flag bearer, a faction of the party’s leadership has presented Clement Bamigbola as its candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Stonix News reports that Adeleke had on Wednesday emerged as the party’s candidate after being returned unopposed as the sole aspirant.
However, a faction of the party rejected his emergence, citing concerns over the legality of the party’s National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Ngbudem.
In a fresh development on Sunday, about 300 Accord Party delegates drawn from across Osun State selected Bamigbola as the faction’s governorship candidate during a primary election held at Regina Suite, Osogbo.
Bamigbola was chosen through a voice vote, after which the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Hon. Olufemi Ogundare, formally declared him the party’s candidate for the 2026 governorship race.
Ogundare, alongside other party leaders, subsequently presented the Accord Party flag to Bamigbola, officially endorsing him for the 2026 contest.
