Pastor Chris Okafor Sparks Debate With Blunt Sermon On Arrogance, Marriage

PASTOR Chris Okafor has stirred controversy with a blunt sermon addressing arrogance, respect, personal character and marriage, delivering his message in uncompromising terms during a Sunday service.

In his remarks, the cleric criticised what he described as arrogant behaviour, saying, “You are very arrogant and you talk to people anyhow.”

He added that even when such individuals are corrected, they remain defiant, insisting they do not respect anyone.

According to him, this attitude, especially when displayed by a young woman, was unacceptable.

He went on to question how such conduct affects marital prospects, asking which man would be willing to marry a woman perceived as lacking discipline or moral restraint.

While acknowledging that his words might offend, he maintained that honesty was necessary, noting that “the truth is always bitter.”

Pastor Okafor further condemned rudeness and what he described as a lack of proper upbringing, linking these traits to challenges in relationships and marriage.

Emphasising his views on matrimony, he stated that no man would marry a woman who is not submissive, citing biblical principles to support his position.

Concluding his message, he asserted that a woman must first possess the qualities of a wife before marriage, adding that a well-taught girl listens, learns and obeys.

The sermon has since generated mixed reactions, with some applauding his frankness and others criticising the tone and content of his comments.
