THE Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Grace Ville Parish, Alimosho, Lagos, on Monday donated essential baby supplies to children born on 2nd March at Orile-Agege General Hospital, Lagos. The initiative was in celebration of the birthday of the Church’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Pastor Adeboye turned 83 on 2nd March.
According to Pastor (Mrs) Adeola Olowolafe, Coordinator of the Daddy G.O Legacy Project, the donation was inspired by Pastor Adeboye’s deep love for children.
She said, “We are here at Orile-Agege General Hospital to present gifts to children born on 2nd March, in honour of Daddy G.O’s birthday. He turned 83.
“We are providing essential baby supplies for the newborns because Daddy has a heart for children. This speaks volumes about his love and commitment, which is why our parish has chosen to carry out this gesture on his behalf. Children are incredibly important to him.”
Pastor Olowolafe also revealed that this initiative began in 2022 when Pastor Adeboye turned 80.
“In 2023, Daddy actually asked us to bring the children born in 2022 to him for his blessings. He prayed for them and blessed them. That shows his deep love for children,” she added.
She further explained that the parish engages in various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including medical outreach, to positively impact the local community in Alimosho.
A member of the Legacy Project team, Adeola Oluwafemi, described the gesture as an expression of love and care.
She said, “This is what God has called us to do as believers. We are here in Orile-Agege to present gifts to children born on the same day as Daddy G.O. It is a way to celebrate his birthday while also showing love to these newborns.
“It is special for them to share a birth date with such a great man of God who has made a positive impact in the lives of many across the world. Daddy G.O is a father of faith, and he has demonstrated his faith not just spiritually but in all aspects of life.”
The Medical Director/CEO of Orile-Agege General Hospital, Dr Sola Pitan, received the gifts on behalf of the newborns and expressed his gratitude to RCCG for the thoughtful gesture.
He said, “We appreciate you for identifying with us and for your support. Some of our patients struggle financially, and this donation will go a long way in assisting them. As a public hospital, we charge less than private hospitals because we are funded by the Lagos State government.
“We are grateful for this wonderful act of kindness. Thank you for the love and care shown to us in celebration of Daddy G.O’s birthday.
“As a Redeemite myself, I am pleased to see an RCCG parish engaging with the hospital. Thank you for all you do—we truly appreciate it.”
