Renewed Hope Initiative Rolls Out Support Programmes In Borno

By Micheal Chukwuebuka

THE Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) has unveiled two major intervention programmes in Borno State — the “Flow with Confidence” sanitary pad distribution and a food outreach scheme targeted at vulnerable groups.

The programmes blend immediate relief with sustainable empowerment. Through the Flow with Confidence project, the Initiative is distributing sanitary pads to schoolgirls and upgrading sanitation facilities to promote better hygiene and encourage consistent school attendance.

Launching the programmes in Maiduguri, Mrs Nana Kashim Shettima, wife of the Vice President and Vice Chairperson of the Initiative, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to address both the short-term needs and long-term development of women and children across the country.

She explained that the sanitary support scheme aims to improve menstrual hygiene, reduce absenteeism among schoolgirls, and build their confidence to stay in school. Mrs Shettima also commended the Borno State Government for its collaboration and support in implementing the Initiative’s projects.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as a timely response to the current economic difficulties faced by many families.

The Renewed Hope Initiative continues to expand its outreach across Nigeria, with targeted programmes designed to reduce poverty, promote gender inclusion, and empower women and youth for a more sustainable future.
