Security Personnel Hail Training, Demand More Capacity-Building Programmes

PERSONNEL of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) have hailed a three-day capacity-building training in Effurun, Delta State, describing it as impactful and transformative.

ASC 1 Tanko Peter of the NSCDC said the exercise boosted morale and improved their approach to community relations and security operations. “We now know the value of building trust with communities rather than using force.

The training also exposed us to the use of technology in security,” he noted.

ASC 1 Salihu Ali Ogiri added that the well-organised sessions would help improve field performance, urging organisers to hold more of such programmes.

TSSNL Coordinator, Governor Divine Ebiware, said participants learnt strategies for safeguarding pipelines and critical infrastructure.

She praised the organisers for the lectures, accommodation and logistics, stressing that the training left her “better informed as a coordinator.”

Another coordinator, Godbless Ebinaebi, said the sessions reshaped his mindset and work approach.

Participants unanimously appealed for more frequent and longer training programmes to further strengthen national security efforts.
