AUCHI, Edo State — Tragedy struck on Sunday when a Dangote truck reportedly suffered brake failure and collided with a white Mercedes-Benz GLK along the busy Benin–Okene Expressway.
Stonix News reports that the impact of the crash crushed the Mercedes-Benz, which had four occupants. Three of them died instantly, while one survived with injuries.

The collision further pushed the Dangote truck into an oncoming BUA truck from the Benin axis, resulting in a head-on crash. Within moments, the Dangote truck went up in flames, sending motorists and residents in the area into panic.
The incident occurred directly opposite the Omega Fire Ministries headquarters in Auchi, causing heavy gridlock and heightened tension in the area. Emergency responders swiftly moved in to contain the fire and evacuate victims.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement as investigations continue into the cause of the fatal accident.
