PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has honoured members of the Super Falcons with national awards and generous rewards following their victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Each of the 24 players will receive $100,000 (approximately ₦152.7 million), while members of the technical crew are to receive $50,000 each.

In addition to the monetary rewards, the president also announced that every player would be gifted a three-bedroom apartment at the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Abuja.

Super Falcons celebrating
The players will also be conferred with national honours, specifically the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Furthermore, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum awarded the team an additional ₦10 million.

The Super Falcons secured their WAFCON title in dramatic fashion on Saturday, July 26, coming from two goals down to defeat Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final.
