IT was a ‘Black Sunday’ in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Region 4, Kwara State, as an 18-seater bus conveying an undisclosed number of members was involved in a fatal crash which claimed the life of one Mr Timothy Umukoro, and left several others injured.
The crash
Stonix News gathered that the deceased was a young lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State.
Himself and other members of the mission were on their way back to base on Sunday morning, 9th of October, 2022, after the just-concluded RCCG International Youth Convention held at the Redemption City in Ogun State, when their vehicle crashed along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Mr Timothy Umukoro, a native of Ughelli, Delta State, who was until his demise, the Regional Youth Music Director (RYMD), and a Pastors Seeds Family (PSF), General Secretary, died immediately after a head-on collision.
Others, with the help of passersby and sympathisers, were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
As of the time of filing this report, no official statement from neither The Federal Polytechnic, Offa nor RCCG had been made.
