A final year Returnee medical student and indigene of Sokoto State, Uzaifa Halilu Modachi, has died.
This is coming two weeks after he returned from war-ravaged Ukraine, East Europe.
Amid sketchy details, Uzaifa is said to have been swiftly buried according to Islamic injunction.
Stonix News gathered that the deceased had sojourned in Ukraine at a stretch for three years without returning home.
The final year student of Zaporozhye State Medical University Ukraine was said to be preparing for his final year examination when Russia invaded Ukraine.
He was one of the hundreds of Nigerian students that were evacuated from the crisis prone Ukraine back to Nigeria.
Father of the deceased, Habibu Haliru Modachi, who’s a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, attributed his son’s death to God.
“Alhamdu Lilah, God gives, and God takes away life, and that’s how he wanted it to happen, there is no doubt about it.
“Had it been he died in Ukraine, so many things would be said about him, that he was either killed by the Russian bombardment or had an accident or even accidentally shot and killed by the Ukrainian Army.
‘We are grateful to God for having him die before us; we also thank the Nigerian government, particularly Sokoto State, for taking a hasty decision to evacuate them before the full escalation of the War in Ukraine,” senior Modachi noted.
