BUT for Providence and timely intervention of weary shop owners, two Warri guys engaged in a deadly street fight would have ended in the morgue.
The setting is Ginuwa Junction, Warri/Sapele, road in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Time was Wednesday evening amid hazy breeze of harmattan!
It’s barely four days to Christmas, with the usual rat race that usually characterises the season, the two unkempt guys alighted from a tricycle, picked up an issue and, in a jiffy, engaged in fisticuffs.
As it is in Waffi, onlookers refused to intervene, relished the reflexive muscles in display, with yells of ‘gbasgbos’ renting the air, and what followed was a reign of planks drawing some red blood from the head of one of the brawlers.
Both recalcitrant strugglers were mopped up by Agbassa community authority boys, whose job is to extort money from such incident, only after blood had flowed needlessly.
