Wives of Slain Soldiers Invade Commanding Officer’s Residence In Kebbi

Wives of slain soldiers in black attires and hijab, on Thursday, stormed the residence of 223 Commanding Officer of 223 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Kebbi State, to protest the killing of their husbands by bandits.

The women were seen in a viral video trending on Thursday holding sticks and leaves chanting in Hausa language: “we no go gree!, we no go gree!!” “whatever will happen, let it happen,” “we are also ready to die.”

Few women were also sighted in the video burning tyres in front of the residence of the CO.

They expressed their anger over the killing of their bread winners in an ambush by bandits on the deputy governor’s convoy.

Stonix News recalls that most of the protesting women lost their bread-winners when bandits stormed Kanya village on Tuesday and engaged the soldiers in a fierce battle which led to the death of dozens of soldiers.

The CO, it was gathered, was in company of the state Deputy Governor, Samaila Yombe who was in the area on a working visit.

In a viral video obtained, some soldiers were seen dragging out the women who had earlier gained access into the CO’s residence while attempting to gain access were prevented by the few soldiers around.

A strain voice from the viral video was heard saying in Hausa: “I want to see my husband. I will remain here.”
