TWO cult suspects have been arrested with five pistols after a rival cult clash at Swalli Community, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Names of the two cult suspects were given as Kingsley Okiloli, 22, and Endurance Akpeni, 23.
They were arrested on November 10, 2022 at about 4:30p.m by operatives of the Bayelsa Police Command who, on receiving a distress call, stormed Swalli Community where two rival cults were on each other’s throats!
Endurance Akpeni had sustained serious injury and was already bleeding when police arrived the scene, SP Asinim Butswat,
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bayelsa State Command, noted in a statement obtained by Stonix News on Sunday.
He said a locally-made pistol and one live cartridge was initially recovered from Kingsley Okiloli.
According to him, upon interrogation of the suspects, Police operatives returned to their hideout at Swalli community and recovered additional four locally-made pistols and three live cartridges.
“Endurance Akpeni is responding to treatment at the Police Clinic, Yenagoa, while further investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing cult members,” Butswat further noted.
