He expressed shock at the level of damage the flood has caused the people in the two communities.
Lamenting, he said: “The magnitude of this flood, I did not know, as it did not get to me until I got to this place to see for myself. I was on my way to Igbide to sympathize with the people.
“Unfortunately, as you can see for yourself, that we could not drive through this water. This is a major road, it’s not a pathway, and we couldn’t drive through.
“The chairman of the party has to come through with canoe to get here and we have been advised clearly that we can’t get there with vehicles.

Relief materials being delivered
“That even with the boat it will take us two hours to get there because there are no speed boats, it has to be paddle. And we have things that we want to give to those people in distress.”
Meanwhile, Delta State NNPP Chairman, Chief Friday Efetobor, who received the relief materials on behalf of Igbide people, called on the Federal and State Government to come to the rescue of the flood victims.
