An undergraduate of the Redeemer’s University Nigeria (RUN), Ede, Osun State, one Ireoluwa Akinlaja has been reportedly kidnapped.
Reports say he was abducted on Saturday by gunmen in Ogun State.
RUN is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) which just rounded off its 70th annual convention tagged: Perfect Jubilee at the Redemption City in the state.
The abduction of Oreoluwa came barely 24 hours after a beauty queen of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Miss Happiness Odeh, was kidnapped, raped, and killed on her way to Iperu-Remo for a movie shoot.
According to reports, Ireoluwa was kidnapped at about 2:00p.m on that day around Ogun Interchange, Ogun State.
On a social media post made by Ogun Update, Ireoluwa was kidnapped on his way from RUN while waiting for his parent to pick him up.
According to the post, before the parents got to their meeting point at an interval of 10mins, the mother received a text message that reads, “I have been kidnapped.”
The situation was immediately reported at the Police Station Owode/Egba division, the post stated.
Later in the evening, another message was sent to his mother via his phone, which reads “I will be used for rituals tomorrow.
“The Ogun State Police Command is doing their best, but this is just a message to everyone and anyone that can assist with this present situation.
“The last point of tracking location was IKORODU.
“The victim’s name is IREOLUWA AKINLAJA a 100 level Mass Communication student,” the post reads.
