Ghanaian Teacher Defiles Three Pupils During Lesson

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

A 24-year-old National Service Person at Sehwi Asawinso Methodist Primary B has been arrested for allegedly defiling three pupils during extra mural lesson in his abode.

The three pupils are of the Sehwi Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region of Ghana.

The suspect, Bismark Ansu, is a Class Two teacher of the three defiled victims and remanded at the Bibiani Circuit Court.

Reports say the suspect, in January this year, had organised an extra classes for his pupils in his house on the pretext that he needed to complete the academic year syllabus without the knowledge of the school authorities.

Ansu allegedly, however, took advantage of the extra classes to lure three of the pupils, between eight and nine years old, into sexual intercourse.

He reportedly threatened to kill them if they disclosed their ordeal to their parents or anyone.

But after some weeks of the alleged sexual assault, the parents of the victims noticed abnormal blood discharges from their daughter’s private part and, upon interrogation, spilled the beans.

A report was made to the police at Sehwi Asawinso and a medical form was issued to the complainants to take the victims to any government hospital for examination, treatment, and endorsement, all of which corroborated the defilement claims.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged with three offences: i) threat of death contrary to section 75 of the criminal offences 1960 [ACT 29], ii) defilement contrary to section 101 of criminal offences 1960 [ACT 29], and iii) threat of harm contrary to section 74 of the criminal offences 1960 [ACT 29] and was put before the Bibiani circuit court.

Suspect Ansu has been remanded and expected to reappear on May 29, 2023 after the court heard the details of the cases.

Meanwhile, the victims are said to be responding to treatment.
