ASABA – The Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has embarked on a series of strategic courtesy visits to key security agencies in the state as part of an intensified drive to strengthen inter-agency collaboration.

On Monday, the CP visited the Department of State Services (DSS), followed by trips to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) on Wednesday.
Speaking during the engagements, CP Oyeniyi underscored the primacy of intelligence in modern policing. “Effective security management is anchored on timely and actionable intelligence,” he said.
He highlighted pressing concerns including cultism, kidnapping, communal clashes, human trafficking, and drug trafficking, stressing the need for sustained collaboration ahead of the forthcoming elections.

At the NIS, the CP was received by the State Comptroller, G.C. Ozodinobi, while the State Controller, CC Chuke Chike Idoko, welcomed him at the Correctional Service. The DSS Director reaffirmed that intelligence gathering is a collective responsibility.
All agency heads commended the CP’s initiative and agreed that no single agency can independently tackle contemporary security challenges.

According to SP Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, the visits reinforce the shared resolve to deepen cooperation and ensure public safety across Delta State.
