FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, have paid glowing tributes to Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, founder of the Word of Life Bible Church (WLBC), describing him as a “global icon of faith, courage, and humanitarian service.”

The accolades were delivered on Monday at the International Gospel Centre, Warri, during a colourful ceremony celebrating the WLBC’s 38th Jubilee Word Festival and the 80th birthday of its founder, who is also a former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
In his remarks, Chief Obasanjo praised Pastor Oritsejafor as a man whose life has remained a testimony of divine purpose and unwavering service to God and humanity.
“For him and for me, every day is a day of celebration,” Obasanjo said. “God has given you the grace to subdue, replenish, and multiply.

“We thank God for your achievements and the immense impact you have made in your community, Delta State, Nigeria, and beyond.
“To all gathered here today, let us serve God and humanity faithfully, to the glory of His name,” he added.
Governor Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, described the celebrant as a “father in the faith,” “a spiritual lighthouse,” and “a voice of truth in times of moral challenge.”
“Today, we celebrate not just your age, but your influence — a life marked by steadfast faith, fearless leadership, and genuine compassion,” the Governor said.
He commended Pastor Oritsejafor for his forthrightness in public life, noting that he has remained a courageous preacher who speaks truth to power, uplifts the broken-hearted, and champions the cause of Christ with remarkable conviction.

“You are a divine gift to the Church, our dear Delta State, Nigeria, and the world,” Oborevwori stated.
The celebration drew thousands of worshippers, clerics, and dignitaries who filled the International Gospel Centre to honour both the church’s 38 years of impactful ministry and the octogenarian’s remarkable journey of faith and service.
