AUCHI – A comprehensive renovation and modernisation project at Auchi College, funded by a dedicated alumni group, is set to be unveiled next month, marking a significant boost for education infrastructure in Edo State.
The media team for the project, led by Asiwaju Sola Adebayo, a consummate journalist, media consultant and entrepreneur, was given an exclusive guided tour of the landmark projects yesterday.
The works are being executed by the Association of Great Achievers, Class of ’91, under the leadership of Mr. Peter Dunia, affectionately known as ‘Peter Black’.

The ambitious project, which began in late 2025, involves the complete reconstruction, upgrading, and beautification of significant portions of the school estate.

The team, including Dele Fasan of Galaxy TV Lagos, Ben Dunno of The Sun among others from the broadcast media, observed a range of new state-of-the-art facilities now standing on the grounds.
The facilities included: a new administrative buildings and standard classrooms, a dedicated sports complex featuring a synthetic football pitch, and a fully equipped science laboratories.
Others included a renovated sick bay and a new lodge for corps members, a secure perimeter fence and a high-capacity solar power system, as well as a new multi-purpose hall designed to host school events and gatherings.
The extensive development is scheduled for a formal inauguration on Monday, April 6, 2026.
According to the association, the event is expected to be a grand occasion, attracting a host of dignitaries from across the political spectrum in Edo State, including both serving and retired officials, as well as prominent figures from around the country.
Stonix News reports that the ‘Class of 91’ project represents one of the most significant alumni-led interventions at the college in recent years.
“Looking forward to it,” a spokesperson for the group added, as preparations continue for the unveiling next month.
