ASABA – In a determined push to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and fortify the security architecture of Delta State, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has paid courtesy visits to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), declaring that effective policing thrives on collaboration, not isolation.

Accompanied by members of the Command Management Team, CP Oyeniyi first visited the NSCDC, where he was received by the State Commandant, Commandant Chinedu Fabian Igbo.

The Commissioner underscored the critical role of synergy among security agencies, noting that timely intelligence sharing, mutual respect, and coordinated operations were non-negotiable for success. He praised the existing partnership between the Police and the NSCDC, particularly in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, and called for sustained cooperation to tackle emerging security challenges across the state.

At the FRSC Sector Command (Sector 5.2), the CP was warmly welcomed by the Sector Commander, Charles Eyo Edem. There, he commended the corps for its dedication to road safety management and the reduction of traffic-related incidents. He stressed the importance of joint efforts along major highways and emphasised the need for continuous information exchange and operational support between both agencies.

In his remarks, CP Oyeniyi reiterated that synergy remains the cornerstone of effective security operations, adding that no single agency can achieve optimal results in isolation.

He assured both agencies of the command’s readiness to strengthen existing ties and explore fresh avenues for collaboration, especially in crime prevention, emergency response, and public enlightenment.

The visits, according to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, form part of the CP’s broader engagement strategy aimed at fostering unity of purpose among security stakeholders and reinforcing a collective commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Delta State.
