FORMER President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide, Reno Omokri, has raised the alarm over alleged reinforcement of the presidential Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He claimed that APC didn’t include notable Christians in its newly-released list of nominees for Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2023 general elections..
The Itsekiri-born chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) raised the alarm on his Twitter handle on Saturday.
Omokri warned Nigerians about the 2023 elections, saying they should observe how the APC sidelined prominent Christians from their campaign list, wondering what would happen if APC eventually won the election.
“Dear Nigerians, I hope you are watching how the All Progressives Congress’s Muslim-Muslim ticket just kicked out the top Christian in government, VP Osinbajo, and the only Northern Christian Speaker Nigeria ever had, Yakubu Dogara, from their campaign council?
“The APC Muslim-Muslim ticket has not yet won the election, and they are already purging prominent Christians, like Osinbajo and Dogara, from their campaign council.
“What will now happen when they win? Remember, to be forewarned is to be forearmed! he warned.
Stonix News reports that APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a Southern Muslim, had picked a northern Muslim, Kashim Shettima, as his running mate in spite of stiff objections from Christians and notable Muslims across Nigeria over the imbalance.
