RENOWNED cleric and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has dropped the reason Nigeria, in spite of its numerous existential challenges, has not disintegrated.
The octogenarian gave the reason during the RCCG October 2022 Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City late Friday night while preaching on the theme: ‘Shine Forth.’
He said that Nigeria has, amid all odds, remained an entity, which he described as a miracle, because of the constant prayers of Christians in the land.
He, therefore, averred that whatever situation the country has found itself was the fault of Christians in the country who have refused to show forth the Light of God as expected.
“I tell you the truth, that Nigeria is still one up till this moment is a sign of a miracle. It shows God still answers prayers.
“Whatever is happening in Nigeria today is the fault of Christians.
“Why? Because God said if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, He said He’d hear from Heaven and heal their land.
“Who are the people to pray? He said ‘my people.’ Who are those people? He explained: ‘who are called by my Name.’
“Who is the one called by the name of a man? His wife, children.
“There’s no doubt about who God is asking to pray. The church is the bride of Christ. We’re his wife.
“The church is the only organisation in the world that is bold enough to say ‘we are children of God.’
“How many children of God are here tonight? So, we’re the people called by His name.
“That’s why they call us Christians. We’re the ones to pray if we want our land to be healed,” he posited.
According to the Ifewara-born cleric, the thought or conclusion by some individuals that God isn’t answering prayers for Nigeria isn’t true, but should be intensified.
“But you may say we’ve been praying, every Holy Ghost Service we’ve been praying ..is God not answering?
“I met a very senior Muslim some days ago and looked me straight in the face and said ‘sir, we thank God for people like you.’
“I said what do you mean? He said if you’ve not been praying, there’d be no Nigeria today.
“I said thank God. At least, we’re still existing. So, He’s answering prayers.
“I tell you the truth, that Nigeria is still one up till this moment is a sign of a miracle. It shows God still answers prayers.
“But if you want something, and you haven’t got it yet, then you pray more, so that’s why the Bible says you should pray till your joy be full,” he encouraged.
The revered man of God expressed further optimism, with assurances, that the joy over Nigeria would be full in no distance time.
He, therefore, called for a seven-day prayer and fasting, beginning from November 26 to December 2, 2022, to further seek God’s face for mercy for the country.
“Whether you believe it or not, one day, and I believe it won’t be long, our joy will be full.
“So, we’d be praying with fasting for seven days and what we’d be praying about I’ll give you – we’d be confessing to God and be asking God for mercy.
“One thing I know for sure, there’s a God on His throne, and He still answers prayers.
“How many believe He’d answer your prayers? Let me hear you shout hallelujah!!!”
Stonix News reports that the October 2022 Holy Spirit Night, which was rounded off at about 2:30a.m on Saturday, was the grand finale of a week-long annual RCCG International Youths Convention which held at the Redemption City, Nigeria.
