Residents, office workers, worship centres and schools have been forced to evacuate their houses and premises, due to the flood in Patani Local Government Area, as the waters have overflown the bank of River Forcados.
The ravaging flood flowing from the upper Niger and River Benue to the River Forcados, with a pretty high velocity, into the communities along the river bank, through streams, to the hinterlands, destroying property, risking lives and economically crippling the people.
Stonix News gathered that in the affected communities, the speed of the flow and the helpless households have resulted in the evacuating of their families, property and other valuables to safer places.
Narrating their ordeal, some residents narrated how they have lost their livelihoods to the flood as their farms, fish ponds, property worth huge sums of money, have been totally ravaged by the devastating flood, destroying practically everything in its wake.
They called on the local, state and federal governments, as well as well-meaning individuals to come to their aid and restore hope to them.
