Following the just-concluded 2022 President’s Teachers and Schools’ Excellence Award held at the Eagles square, Abuja, four teachers from the Anambra State educational system bagged awards at the prestigious ceremony.

The awardees, Mrs Marilyn Uchenna Ugokwe of SUSU College Nkpor was declared the best private Senior Secondary School teacher, Mrs Eucharia Ikegwuonu of Nigeria Science and Technical College, Nnewi, won the junior Secondary Schools category.
Mr Hope Chekwube Ifetike of Government Technical College Onitsha grabbed the runner up in the public Senior Secondary School category while the overall winner, Dr. Sabina Ijeoma Chukwunedum of Abbot Girls Secondary school, Ihiala, won the best administrator in Nigeria among public Junior Secondary Schools.
Expressing her admiration to the development, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the Commissioner for Education, Anambra, commended the efforts and commitment of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, towards the teachers in the state by providing adequate facilities which have helped in building a substantial educational system.
According to a press statement from the Ministry of Education Public Relations Office, Nnaemka Egwuonwu, the prizes received by the winners included a bus, a KIA brand of car, a Salti Lady motorcycle and a generating set.
