Adeboye Urges Kindness to All: Angels May Wear Flesh, He Says

THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has cautioned believers not to miss their divine visitation due to unkindness or poor treatment of others, saying that angels may appear in human form.

Delivering the message in the Open Heavens Daily Devotional for Wednesday, 14th May 2025, titled Divine Visitation II, Pastor Adeboye drew attention to the biblical account in Judges 13:2–3, where an angel appeared to Manoah’s wife to announce the miraculous birth of Samson.

The revered cleric explained that God often sends angels to deliver divine messages or blessings, citing Hebrews 1:13–14 which refers to angels as ministering spirits.

He noted that just as Manoah and Zechariah in the Bible received angelic visitations concerning the birth of their children, modern believers could also experience divine encounters in similar ways.

“Sometimes, the angel that God sends to you may come in the form of a human being,” he stated, referencing the maid in 2 Kings 5 who led Naaman to his healing.

“There are many stories of people God used to bring others into the fullness of their purpose. May God send such destiny helpers to you speedily, in Jesus’ name.”

Pastor Adeboye urged Christians to be hospitable and kind to all, warning that mistreating others could drive away the very angels God may have sent.

He highlighted Hebrews 13:2: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

“Imagine if Naaman’s wife had maltreated their maid—he would have probably died a leper,” he said. “Some people have sent their angels away with their terrible behaviours. Don’t be like them.”

The devotional concluded with a reminder from Galatians 6:10, emphasising the need to do good to everyone, especially fellow believers: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

Pastor Adeboye’s message serves as a timely spiritual reminder that divine encounters may not always come with heavenly fanfare, but could arrive quietly, wrapped in the presence of those we might least expect.
