CADET Hunter Brown of Lake Charles, Los Angeles, an offensive lineman with the U.S. Air Force, died on his way to class on Monday 9th, after experiencing a medical emergency, the Academy announced on Tuesday.

Stonix News learnt that Hunter Brown, 21, was heading to class from his dormitory on Monday when he suffered the emergency.

The Academy’s first medical responders were immediately called and attempted lifesaving measures, but they were unsuccessful.

Brown, before his demise, was assigned to Cadet Squadron 16 and was majoring in management with a minor in French.

He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School in May 2021.

The Air Force Academy’s superintendent, Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark referred to Brown as a “well-respected officer in his squadron”.

“The entire U.S. Air Force Academy mourns his loss, and our hearts and condolences are with his family, his squadron, and all who were touched by this incredible young man,” Clark said in a statement

Brown’s football coach in the Academy, Troy Calhoun lamented:

“Our players, staff and entire Academy have been so blessed and fortunate to have Hunter as a part of our lives.

“He was a pure joy to coach and have as a teammate. No one unselfishly pulled harder for others than Hunter.

“His mom and dad, Candyce and Dustin, raised a wonderful son who made each of us a better person.

“We love our great brother, and our thoughts and prayers are with Hunter’s incredible soul and his family,” Calhoun said.

The Academy confirmed the investigations are in progress to uncover what led to the 21-year-old officer’s sudden death
