A man was killed after he collapsed and was run over by a METRORail train.
METRO officials said the tragic incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Texas Medical Center Transit Center off Fannin Street.
METRO also said the man fell between two train cars as one of the trains was leaving the station.
ABC13 reported that he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s unclear what caused the man to collapse, if he accidentally tripped and fell or possibly had a medical emergency.
The rail service was suspended in the area, though shuttle bus service was provided for riders. Regular service has since resumed.
