Akpabio, Kano State Gov, Senate Donate Millions Of Naira To Families Of Deceased Policemen

The Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Nigerian Senate donated N46 million to families of the six policemen who were killed in Ughelli, Delta State.

Stonix News had reported how six policemen were killed by criminal suspects in the course of carrying out their duties on February 26, 2024.

The donation was made at the Police Award and Commendation Ceremony held in Abuja on Monday where families of the deceased received the payment of their entitlements.

This was disclosed in the official X page of the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

According to the post, Senator Akpabio donated the sum of six million while Governor Abba Yusuf and the senate donated N20 million each.

The post read thus: “Our 6 policemen that were killed in Ughelli, Delta State in February, 2024 were honoured posthumously at the award and Commendation Ceremony in Abuja on Monday, and their families received the payment of their entitlements at the event.

“We commend the IGP for his good heart and spontaneous response to the plight of their families. We also appreciate the Gov of kano State for his donation of 20 million naira.

“Also the senate president donated the sum of 6 million naira, and the senate, the sum of 20 million naira. We commend others who have shown interest in supporting the families of our fallen heroes. May God bless you all. May the souls of our fallen heroes rest in peace.”
