Sustained tension and anxiety has gripped Ngyong community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State following the abduction of a bride, Farmat Paul, on Monday, from her pastor’s house a few hours before her wedding.
The couple, Farmat and the Zaphaniah Kosom, had earlier sent out invitation cards for their wedding ceremony billed to hold at a church in Ngyong community at the local government before the incident.
Report says in line with the tradition of the church, the bride had gone to the pastor’s house to pass the night before the wedding.
Stonix News gathered that the kidnap suspects invaded the pastor’s house at about 10:45 p.m and abducted only the bride, leaving the pastor and his family members unhurt.
The abductors allegedly communicated in Fulani language during while the operation lasted.
The incident has been reported to the Divisional Police headquarters in the local government, it was gathered.
A sources told journalists that arrangements and preparations for the wedding slated for today (Monday) have been put on hold while the groom has gone into seclusion.
“As I am talking to you, the groom is yet to come to terms with the reality. There are different insinuations to the incident, it is a hopeless situation.
“Both the church and the family are eagerly waiting for a call from the kidnappers,” he said.
When Tribune Online contacted the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ubah Gabriel Ogiba, reportedly said the incident has not been reported to the State Command.
As of the time of filing the report, no information as regards whether the abductors have contacted family or not has emerged.
