THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and seven others from the party over alleged anti-party activities.

The suspension was announced on Saturday at the ongoing PDP National Convention in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The party also dissolved the PDP executive councils in Rivers, Abia, Plateau, Enugu and Imo states.
The motions to this effect were moved by the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, and the former National Vice Chairman of the party (South), Chief Olabode George, respectively, at the PDP Elective National Convention.
According to the party, the expulsion and dissolution orders are in accordance with Section 33, subsection 2, of the PDP Constitution (2017).
