IN a dramatic UEFA Nations League final, Portugal triumphed over Spain in a nail-biting penalty shootout, securing their third international title with 40-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo at the helm.
Stonix News reports that Spain took an early lead in the 21st minute with a stunning goal by Zubimendi. However, Portugal responded just five minutes later, thanks to a precise finish from Nuno Mendes.
As the first half neared its conclusion, Spain regained the lead. But Portugal fought back strongly in the second half, with Ronaldo leveling the score in the 61st minute.
With the match tied 2-2 after regular and extra time, it was decided by penalties.
Portugal prevailed 5-3 in the shootout, clinching their second UEFA Nations League championship.
Cristiano Ronaldo finished as the tournament’s top scorer, netting an impressive total of eight goals.
