Super Eagles and Atalanta’s attacker, Ademola Lookman, has won the CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award for 2024.

Lookman has won the award, replacing fellow Nigerian compatriot, Victor Osimhen who won it last year.
The Atalanta attacker emerged as the winner after a spectacular year with both club and country.

Recall that the Super Eagles of Nigeria lost by two goals to one to Cote D’Ivoire in the 2023 African Nations Cup (AFCON).
Ademola Lookman played a vital part in the successes of both his club and country last year, helping the Super Eagles of Nigeria get to the final and scoring a hattrick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League to help Atalanta win its first ever European trophy.
Nigeria is officially the country with the most CAF Player of the Year Awards (7).
Nigeria is also the only country to win the CAF POTY Award in 2 consecutive years on 3 occasions, with different players:
• Rashidi Yekini 1993
• Eammuel Amuneke 1994
• Kanu Nwakwo 1996 & 1999
• Victor Ikpeba 1997
• Victor Osimhen 2023
• Ademola Lookman 2024
