‘Come Rescue Nigeria,’ PDP Sends SOS To Trump

THE newly-elected National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Tanimu Turaki, has sent a Save Our Souls (SOS) to the Donald Trump to save Nigeria from genocide as well as safeguard Nigeria’s democracy.

Turaki’s appeal followed the dramatic takeover of the PDP’s national secretariat, Wadata House, by police officers after rival factions loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, clashed over control of the party.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, the PDP chairman described the situation as a grave danger not only to the party’s internal structure but to the nation’s democratic stability.

He argued that Nigeria’s current challenges go beyond Christian genocide and widespread insecurity, insisting that the very foundation of democratic governance is now at risk.

“I want to call on President Trump; what is at stake is not just genocide against Nigerian Christians. He should come and save democracy in Nigeria,” Turaki said.

He also urged the wider international community to take note of the unfolding events and intervene, warning that Nigeria’s democratic system is severely compromised.

Turaki vowed that his faction would remain resolute in defending democratic principles, saying they were prepared to “stop at nothing to rescue democracy in the country, even if it involves laying down their lives.”

His appeal to President Trump marks a new and dramatic escalation in the PDP’s deepening power struggle, underscoring concerns that the crisis could pose a significant threat to Nigeria’s political stability.
