THE Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, has continued his familiarisation tour of police formations and key stakeholders across the state, as part of efforts to enhance operational coordination and strengthen community partnership in policing.

The tour commenced on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with a visit to the Ogwashi Area Command, where the Commissioner engaged officers and men of the Command, alongside relevant stakeholders, in discussions centred on effective service delivery and collaborative security efforts.
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, CP Adesola proceeded to the Agbor Area Command, where he met with personnel and stakeholders of the Command, reiterating the leadership’s commitment to professional, efficient and people-centred policing.
As part of the visit to the Agbor axis, the Commissioner also paid courtesy visits to prominent traditional rulers in the area.

These included His Royal Majesty, Dr Benjamin Ikenchukwu Keagborekuzi I, the Dein of Agbor; His Royal Majesty, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor II, OON, the Obi of Owa Kingdom; and His Royal Majesty, the Obi of Umunede.
Speaking during the engagement, the Dein of Agbor, HRM Dr Benjamin Ikenchukwu Keagborekuzi I, described the Nigeria Police Force as the “lifeboat of the nation”, stressing the need for unity, mutual respect and shared responsibility in ensuring national security.
He drew attention to challenges related to police welfare and equipment, calling for improved support to enable officers to carry out their duties more effectively.
The monarch also expressed concern over the rising menace of drug abuse within the Agbor community, identifying it as a major security challenge and urging sustained collaboration between the Police and the community to address the problem.

He further cautioned members of the public against provoking police officers in the lawful discharge of their duties, noting that armed officers may be compelled to make rapid decisions in volatile situations.
In his remarks, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, HRM Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor II, OON, emphasised that security is a collective responsibility, adding that meaningful community development depends largely on unity among residents.
He observed that when communities act together, drug-related crimes and other security challenges can be effectively tackled.
Responding, CP Aina Adesola stated that his policing philosophy is firmly rooted in close collaboration with the people, noting that community members possess invaluable knowledge of their environment and social structures, which is critical to effective policing and crime prevention.

He reaffirmed the Delta State Command’s commitment to inclusive, proactive and community-oriented policing, while urging residents to continue supporting the Police by providing timely and credible information.
The familiarisation tour, the Police Command said, is aimed at fostering trust, strengthening partnerships and promoting sustainable security across Delta State.
