The Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos has discharged Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of causing a disturbance aboard an Ibom Air flight, after police withdrew the case.
The court’s decision followed a request by the prosecution, who informed the magistrate that both the complainant and the airline had lost interest in pursuing the matter. Police authorities reportedly instructed that the case be dropped.

Emmanson had faced five charges, including disrupting public peace on board, assaulting a crew member, and breaching public order. She pleaded not guilty at her initial arraignment.
With the withdrawal approved, the magistrate ordered her discharge, bringing the legal proceedings to an end.
The development may signal a private resolution between the parties and is expected to renew discussions in the aviation industry about measures to curb in-flight misconduct.
