She appreciated God and her ancestors for the gift of life and productive land of Obior that has brought forth a bountiful harvest of farm produce for the year.

The Omu prayed for continual peace on Obior land, the unity of her people and more progress in the years to come.

It was an exceptional New Yam Festival as the people were sumptuously entertained with good food and drinks.

The traditional music, accompanied by the flutes (Akpele) of Emeka of Obomkpa and Dike of Issele-Uku, was not left out as the Omu and her well-wishers danced gracefully to the admiration of all that stood to watch.
