SUPER Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced Nigeria’s final 27-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), as the team prepares for the tournament kicking off later this month in Morocco.

AFCON 2025 will begin on 21 December 2025, with Nigeria aiming to secure a fourth continental title, having last won the championship in 2013. The competition is expected to be intense, with top African teams vying for glory.
Goalkeepers
Stanley Nwabali, Francis Uzoho and Amas Obasogie have been selected, with Nwabali widely tipped to retain his starting spot following a series of solid performances.
Defenders
The defensive lineup includes Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Semi Ajayi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu, Chidozie Awaziem, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ryan Alebiosu, offering Chelle a variety of options across all positions.
Wilfred Ndidi leads the midfield pack alongside Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Muhammed Usman, Alex Iwobi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Raphael Onyedika and Tochukwu Nnadi. The group provides a balance of creativity, experience and youthful energy.

Forwards
Nigeria’s attack will be spearheaded by Victor Osimhen, supported by an impressive cast including Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Samuel Chukwueze, Cyriel Dessers, Salim Fago, Moses Simon, Chidera Ejuke and Paul Onuachu.
With the squad now confirmed, Chelle and his players will intensify preparations as they aim for a strong showing in Morocco and a serious push for Africa’s biggest football prize.
