PERHAPS overwhelmed by youthful excitement and a possible touch of alcohol, a groom and his best man returning from Bachelor’s Eve rammed an articulated truck offloading some goods in Ibadan, Oyo State and perished in the process.
The tragedy, which reportedly occurred on Friday September 29, 2023 at about 11:00p.m along Idi-Ape Road, Bashorun, Ibadan.
The 34-four-year-old groom, identified as Bosun and his best man perished along with two others opposite Bova’s Petrol Station, Olowotinfowosanu Shopping Complex, Ibadan.
The groom was said to be driving a Toyota Highlander SUV, while his best man was behind the wheels of a Toyota Camry before both rammed the stationary truck.
The wedding was slated to take place today Saturday September 30.
Vanguard gathered that Bosun was, until his sudden death on September 29, a staff of a multi-national firm in Nigeria.
The groom’s corpse has been deposited at Molly Hospital, Ibadan.
A friend of the deceased, Sesan, who took to his Facebook wall to mourn the deceased, wrote: This is too sad to bear. Rest in peace Bosun.”
