IMMEDIATE past Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Professor Idowu Olayinka, has showered encomiums on the late Emeritus Professor Fola Aboaba.
Stonix News had reported that Aboaba, who’s a foremost elder in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) passed peacefully Saturday January 21, 2023, at his VI home in Lagos at 90.

In a terse tribute on Sunday, Professor Olayinka lamented the loss of the great academic, saying he will be sorely missed.
He, however, took solace in the fact that the memories of the Professor of Agricultural Engineering will linger on just his name has been ingraved in the sand of time.
“Rest in Peace, Professor Fola O. Aboaba. In you the University of Ibadan has lost an Alumnus;
Distinguished Professor of Agricultural Engineering and Eminent Scholar; Seasoned Administrator; Foundation Dean of Technology (1975 to 1979);
“One of the initiators for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA);
“Benefactor and Recipient of Honorary degree of Doctor of Science Ibadan (2019).
“You facilitated the donation of a one-storey building to the Faculty of Technology UI ( The Aboaba Building).
“You will be sorely missed but your memory lingers on and your name is already immortalized in the history of the University of Ibadan.
