THE management of GbaramatuVoice newspaper has urged the Federal Government to engage operators of modular refineries in the Niger Delta region.
This, the media outfit averred, is based on available data showing that most of the refined products from artisanal refineries are of a higher premium than the much touted Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) graded distillations.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of the media outfit’s 7th-anniversary lecture held on Tuesday, at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja and signed by Prof. Tosan Harriman, Chairman, GbaramatuVoice Editorial Board, Jerome-Mario Utomi, Head, Communiqué Drafting Committee and Jacob Abai, Publisher/CEO, GbaramatuVoice newspaper.
The management outlined plans to launch a radio and television station that will broadcast its contents in all local dialects in the Niger Delta and promote the rich cultural heritage of the people.
They also revealed moves to build a Media Skill Training Institute where fresh graduates from the region interested in media practice will be trained on different media skills for self-reliance.
The newspaper called on “well-meaning sons and daughters of the Niger Delta extraction, interested Nigerians, partners and the global community to assist GbaramatuVoice to realize this laudable objective.”
