NIGER Delta environmentalist and Ijaw leader, Chief Comrade Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has congratulated the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, on his election as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria.
In a press statement issued in Warri, Chief Mulade described Rt Hon Guwor’s emergence as well deserved, stating that his unanimous election at the extraordinary session of the Conference held in Abuja on Monday reflects the immense confidence his colleagues have in his leadership.

Chief Mulade, who holds the traditional title of Ibe-Sorimowei of the ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, noted that Rt Hon Guwor’s return unopposed underscores his sterling qualities, integrity and outstanding record of service. He highlighted Guwor’s performance as Treasurer of the Conference since 2023, describing it as marked by diligence, transparency and administrative competence.
According to him, the Delta Speaker has consistently demonstrated maturity, sound judgement and a consensus-building approach to legislative leadership, earning him respect across political and regional divides.
The Ijaw leader further stated that Rt Hon Guwor brings to his new role a wealth of legislative experience, effective stewardship of the Delta State House of Assembly and prudent financial management. He added that these attributes position him to strengthen collaboration among state legislatures, promote institutional reforms and advance democratic governance at the sub-national level.
