SPEAKER of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has been impeached.
He has been subsequently replaced with Mojisola Meranda, representative of Apapa I, as the new speaker.

The lawmakers have accused Obasa of multiple statutory and financial infractions.
Meranda, who represents Apapa Constituency 1, was also a former chief whip of the House.
Meranda would serve as the first female speaker of the Lagos legislature in history.
