MS Joy Ozobo Ofashi, a twice-widowed mother of six, was all smiles on Wednesday afternoon when the Stonix News crew visited her stall at Ginuwa Junction, Warri–Sapele Road, in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Her joy knew no bounds as she was presented with ₦250,000, through electronic transfer, to settle her annual rent, pay her daughter’s examination and school fees, and boost her business with the balance. The ₦250,000 represented half of the ₦500,000 target.

Stonix News had earlier published a touching story titled: “Twice Widowed: The Pathetic Story Of Mama Chinedu In Need Of Urgent Help” on November 1, 2025, after she was widowed for the second time.
Her second husband, with whom she had one daughter, passed away in late October, leaving her in a dire situation as she now has to cater for six children all alone, with no external support.
Following the publication, Stonix News solicited assistance from members of its WhatsApp platform and that of its sister online news outlet, crimeschroniclers.com.
Graciously, between November 1 and Wednesday, November 12, a total of ₦200,000 was donated by individuals from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. Stonix News contributed an additional ₦50,000 to bring the total to ₦250,000.
Speaking after receiving the money electronically on Wednesday, Ms Joy Ozobo Ofashi, overwhelmed with excitement, expressed her gratitude and offered heartfelt prayers for the donors and Stonix News in Pidgin English.

“Those people wey God use bless me, I pray say God go bless them too. May God keep them and make them find every good thing wey dem desire for life.
“May God open doors of opportunity for them. Evil no go near them. E no easy to be widow. I no pray to be widowed twice at a young age.
“May God bless Stonix News and make their company continue to grow in leaps and bounds,” she prayed.
Appreciating the benevolent gesture of the donors, Publisher of Stonix News highlighted the spirit of generosity among Nigerians, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation.

“Thank you for believing in us and lending a helping hand to a widow despite the economic hardship in the country. We will not take your kindness for granted.
