Suspected gunmen have killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Kazeem Kekere.
Stonix News reports that Kekere was the Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Apomu branch, in Isokan Local Government Area of the state.
He was murdered on Saturday night.
The slain NURTW boss, it was learnt, used his position to canvass support for APC during the July 16 governorship election and allegedly deprived other political parties the opportunity to use vehicles in his garage.
A source said that Kazeem was killed on Saturday night after he was trailed to a spot in the community.
The source added that the deceased was killed between Oke-Alfa and Timberland area, adding that he was pursued to the spot where he was killed.
It was gathered that two vehicles followed him to the point where his car was attacked before he was killed.
The Secretary, Isokan Local Government, Tajudeen Bello, confirmed the incident adding that, he payed a major role during the last governorship election.
The Chairman of APC in the state, Prince Gboyega Famodun, through his media aide, Kola Olabisi, also confirmed the unfortunate incident.
